Made with Callo: How to Talk About Callo With Others
guidelines, ambassador, explainers
In the entertainment industry, adding a name to a pitch deck usually implies a 'Who'—another person at the table, another credit on the screen, or another dilution of the backend.
When you include Callo in your deck, or the 'Made with Callo' logo in the special thanks of your completed project, you aren’t adding a 'Who.' You are adding a 'How.'
It is a signal of how the project was built—similar to 'Panavision' or 'Shot on Kodak.' This is why we created a guide for how to talk about Callo in meetings with potential partners who may not be familiar with Callo just yet.
Your Creative Support System
Callo is a Development Platform. We aren’t a production company, an agency, or a management firm. We are a Technology + Service Provider. Think of us as the "rails" for your project or the invisible engine that ensures your work is professional, organized, and market-ready.
The "Top-Heavy" Myth
When a potential partner sees Callo in your deck, they might worry about "credit bloat" or diluted fees. You can put those concerns to rest immediately with three simple facts:
No Credits: Callo is a Development Platform, not a producer. Callo does not take IP equity or screen credits.
No Backend Fees: Callo is a Service Provider. We monetize through a subscription and platform fee. We don’t require agent commissions or a piece of your backend for years to come.
The project is paid for only by the subscriber(s) of Callo. Callo earns a platform fee of 5% on the success of the Subscribers' matches for projects under applicable tiers.
To help your partners understand why you leverage Callo, start here:
Don’t Say | Do Say |
|---|---|
"They are my producing partners." | "Callo is a development platform I use to build and organize this project to get it ready for market." |
"They are my agents." | "Callo is a service provider that plugs my project into a curated marketplace." |
The Elevator Pitch for Your Partners
If a potential partner asks, "Who is Callo and why are they in this deck?", you can say:
"Callo is a the platform we use to handle 80% of the development that usually slows a project down. They aren't producers—they don't take a cut of the backend or a credit on the screen. They are the engine that got this project market-ready faster"
A Badge of Efficiency
When referencing Callo in your pitch deck, it is essential to use the correct terminology to maintain industry standards. For Slate and Scale tiers, please use Callo logo alongside one of the following three designations: Service Provider, Development Platform, or Marketplace.
Please note that these are the only approved terms. Using this specific language serves as a vital signal to the industry. It tells everyone that the "messy work" is done. Materials are validated. Organization is flawless. This project is ready.
Quick Responses to Callo Questions
Does Callo take Equity? No, remind them that equity is a share of project ownership. A Platform Fee is a fee for service. Callo charges a fee to access our infrastructure and marketplace so that you can keep equity.
Will Callo be another party with creative control? No, remind them that Callo is a Service Provider, not a stakeholder.
Why is Callo a Platform and a Service? Because both are needed. The platform (our technology) organizes your work. The Marketplace (our service) finds your collaborators. Callo is the first ecosystem to do both.
